Welcome to the Sheffield Branch of the BCSS
We have prepared a programme for 2021 which we will run, subject to any further Government restrictions, or by using Zoom.
The objectives of the British Cactus and Succulent Society (BCSS) are to promote the study, conservation, propagation and cultivation of cacti and other succulents. Membership includes the whole range from novice window-sill growers to experts and is open to all.
The Sheffield Branch of the BCSS has been in existence since 1946. We currently meet on the second Friday of each month at our new venue of Shirley House, Psalter Lane. See our meetings page for further details of our programme and our contact page for more information on how to find us. Our meetings are free to attend for all comers.
Members are encouraged to bring along plants of interest and plants in flower for the table show or for discussion. Members and speakers are also invited to bring along sales plants with all money going to the grower.
Sheffield Branch member and committee official, Peter Cowdell, has opened his greenhouse to the public (with prior appointment. Currently Peter is working with local youth groups to raise awareness of the Society. Peter also welcomes both members and non-members to view his collection. His email is included on our contact page.
